Search Ocean City PropertiesThere are many ways in which to search for Ocean City Real Estate properties listed for sale. Many of the local real estate agents and some of the real estate brokers have property search features in their web sites. One example is the Property Search page on Lynn Bartlett's web site. Mr. Bartlett has lives and works in Ocean City. He has been a Realtor® in our beach resort town for more than a decade. He was one of the first real estate agents in town to actually provide a web site as a service to his customers. Visit Lynn Bartlett's Web Site HERE. The source for most of the available listings in Ocean City is the Delmarva Properties Online (DPOL.com) web site. This is commonly called the "Multi-List System." The DPOL web site states that it is, "Delmarva's original real estate web service hosting all of the real estate listings belonging to participating brokers of The Coastal Association of REALTORS®." The writer takes note of the word "particpating" in that description. There are undoubtedly a few good agents, brokers or offices that choose to not use those services. Therefore, we feel it is better for you, the consumer to deal directly with a local, full time real estate agent when looking for that "perfect beach property" for your family or for an investment. The Coastal Association of REALTORS® serves Maryland's Eastern Shore - including Ocean City, ocean Pines, Berlin, Snow Hill, Salisbury, Fruitland, Princess Anne, Pocomoke City, Delmar, Hebron, Mardella Springs, Pittsville and Crisfield - and areas in between. That is way too big of an area if you are mainly interested in Ocean City, again a good reason to conduct your search through a local, Ocean City real estate agent. One of the problems we have found with the local multi-list system is that some (far too many?) real estate agents with listings do not fully promote their listings on the MLS, DPOL.com. There are many listings with only a cursory photograph or two and a very abbreviated narrative description. There is room for good narrative and many photos, but some agents don't seem to bother. This is another good reason to deal directly with a local agent. |
